Our members of staff are available before and after performances at all the doors to the auditorium and at the information desk (opposite the box office).

Printed programmes

Printed programmes to accompany the performances are available at each door to the auditorium and at the information desk. Programmes for current events are also available to download online on the day of the performance.

Free introductory talks  

Free introductory talks are held for selected events in the Kleiner Saal 60 minutes before the performance begins. Illuminating interviews and discussions with the artists as well as audience discussions will leave you better informed and help you to get more out of the performance. Further information can be found on the pages for the relevant performances.

Festspielhaus Stammtisch

On selected evenings of dance we offer you the opportunity to share your experiences and impressions after the performance and to talk about the play with those who share your interests. Dates can be found along with details of the performances.  

First night parties for everyone

Be there when artists, staff and guests of the house toast a successful premiere in the Kada Bar after the performance! Dates can be found along with details of the performances.

As an organization committed to its cultural outreach programme, the Festspielhaus offers a range of ways for you to be actively involved. Workshops

 

Disabled access

The Festspielhaus can be reached without steps or barriers through the main entrance or by lift from the underground car park.  

  • 2 Lifts (width of doors 100 cm, depth of cabin 200 cm, width of cabin 180 cm)
  • 2 disabled WCs (ground floor, behind the information desk)
  • 5 disabled parking spaces in the cultural quarter underground car park
  • 5 wheelchair spaces in the Grosser Saal
  • Wheelchair spaces also available in the Kleiner Saal

Lifts take audience members who have difficulty walking to all levels of the auditoria and foyers. Persons escorting them sit close by. Please let us know when you are making your booking that you require a wheelchair place or particular seats.

On presentation of disabled i.d. you will receive a 10% reduction on the price of the performance. Wheelchair users and persons escorting them each receive a 50 % reduction (it is not possible to book online, please contact our sales team).

Getting here by car

Free parking

On work days you can park free from 17.00 h – and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays!

In most cases the barriers will be open at the end of a performance. However, please retain your entry ticket until you have driven out of the car park as a precaution.

Approach made easy

When travelling from the direction of Linz or Vienna on the Westautobahn exit at the Knoten St. Pölten, then take the S 33 as far as the exit marked St. Pölten Ost. From the direction of Krems on the S33 take the exit marked St. Pölten Ost.

A system of signs will then guide you (via the Niederösterreichring, through the Landhaustunnel) to the underground car park P2 in St. Pölten’s cultural quarter

Arriving and leaving by Shuttle Bus

For selected performances, in collaboration with Elite Tours, a bus will bring you directly from Venna to St. Pölten and back again:

Outward journey: the bus transfer starts from the Vienna State Opera (Elite Tours office, Operngasse 4), stopping en route to pick up passengers at Hütteldorf U4 station, Hadikgasse entrace (approx. 15 minutes after departure from the Opera).

Return journey: as a special service on the return journey several stops are offered upon request. Please inform your travel co-ordinator where you wish to get off BEFORE departure.

Reductions for season ticket holders, young people under 26 years of age, members of the Förderverein Kulturbezirk St. Pölten, friends of the Kunstmeile Krems, Grafenegg-Card holders, members of the Tonkunstler’s Pluspunkt Vorteilsprogramm and members of the Friends of Bühne Baden

Please note that you can only book your ticket for the shuttle bus at the advance sales outlets at the discounted advance price up to 3 working days before the performance, after which no reductions are possible.

Fixed price for short term bookings an on the bus from 2 working days before the performance EUR 18, one way (subject to availability) EUR 10. Only bookable through Elite Tours, no reductions possible.

Getting here by rail

Regular train connections every half hour until midnight make travelling with the ÖBB especially attractive.

In co-operation with WESTbahn Festspielhaus visitors receive 10% discount for a single journey or a single RETURN journey to St. Pölten. This offer only is only available when booking a ticket for a performance in advance online. (The booking confirmation of your ticket purchase contains a link with which you can book your discounted WESTbahn ticket online.)

Walking route from station

From the station (exit marked: Richtung Zentrum) walk left as far as the Sparkassenpark. From there a path with signposts marked Kulturbezirk will lead you to the cultural quarter (via the Sparkassenpark, Parkpromenade, Hammerweg).

Or you can take a taxi! There is a taxi stand directly in front of the station.
