Family performance. We celebrate 20 years of the Groupe and Compagnie Grenade! Josette Baïz calls her two ensembles "Grenade", French for pomegranate – and grenade. Numerous small seeds full of light and explosive energy show that the troupe deserves its name. Founded in 1992, in the context of a cooperation of the dancer and choreographer Josette Baïz with young people from socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods in the cities of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, Groupe Grenade today has 50 members aged from seven to 18. Choreography: Josette Baïz, Jérome Bel, Philippe Découflé, Jean-Claude Gallotta, Michel Kélémenis, Abou Lagraa, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Angelin Preljocaj.

After the huge success of his Olivier Award-nominated AfterLight, which took as its inspiration the works of Vaslav Nijinsky, Russell Maliphant creates a new dance piece inspired by the works of the great French sculptor, Auguste Rodin.

In this performance he will comment and expand Jandl’s "unique" voice from tape recordings, actually being an instrument in itself, with trombone and piano as well as with vocals, electronics and toys to a thrilling intelligent, moving-witty acoustic dialogue: a sounding roller coaster through Ernst Jandl’s tongue-in-cheek meaningful sound worlds.
