For the third time in a row, the popular and renowned Österreich TANZT dance festival will be shaped by the two curators Manfred Aichinger and Nikolaus Selimov. However, this much can be revealed – there will be premieres, many surprises and – apart from proven formats – a lot of innovations in this season too, which is entirely dedicated to the aspect of remembering. Selimov and Aichinger are known for their expanded notion of dance and an intensive encounter with the audience – whether by means of sophisticated educational programmes for young and old, amateurs and professionals, or through their numerous artistic interventions in public space. On four festival days, participants as well as visitors will be offered a programme rich in contrast with workshops, further education offers and performances.
A detailed festival programme will be published in spring 2012.

A cooperation of MM Jazzfestival and Festspielhaus St. Pölten
After its brilliant start last season, the festival of choirs and voices has become an indispensable part of the Festspielhaus’s repertoire. With the Vienna Boys’ Choir, the Chorus Sine Nomine, the Finnish shouting choir Huutajat and the Wiener Singakademie, internationally renowned choirs will make a guest appearance at St Pölten and present a varied programme from Renaissance madrigal to Cherubini’s Requiem to world music. The Flying Pickets, masters of a cappella singing, will invite the audience to an excursion into the world of pop music. With Franz Schubert’s cycle “Die schöne Müllerin” Hans Jörg Mammel and Arthur Schoonderwoerd will stage one of the most beautiful works of the German kunstlied or art song. The audience will experience vocal music at the highest level covering all facets!
