Behind the scenes, maybe in a storeroom, is a fat lonely man feeding only on gherkins. His reality: a chair and a little cardboard man. The play is a metaphor for the fantastic, bizarre reign of Edgar I. Caught in a struggle against magic, which pathologically consumes his attention, he multiplies and splits himself until he lifts off and disappears. On stage we are confronted with a foldable cardboard world. Claudia de Serpa Soares and Grayson Millwood draw their abundant fantasy from this "poor world" and unfold an airy-fairy world seemingly defying gravity.
