Introductory talk with Rainer Lepuschitz one hour before the concert in the box
The Turkish pianist and composer Fazil Say is one of the most individual musicians of our time. He enthuses the audience at the Carnegie Hall as well as in jazz clubs, at the Salzburg Mozart Festival and at chamber music festivals – a keyboard tiger amazing with bewildering virtuosity, which is never considered as an end in itself. The reason is that Fazil Say breathes music, whether it is baroque, classical or modern, oriental or occidental. His scope of expression ranges from Scarlatti to Berg and a matter of course includes jazz and the music tradition of his home country. In 2008, Fazil Say was appointed ambassador for intercultural dialogue by the European Union.
Programme Domenico Scarlatti: Three sonatas. Alban Berg: Sonata op. 1. Fazil Say: Inside Serail. Maurice Ravel: Sonatine. Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata in C minor, op. 111

The exceptional accordionist from Austria: "The only thing this has in common with an accordion concert is the instrument", he said. And: "When I play solo, I play myself, I play with me." Or: "Kafka becomes a fan of Pink Floyd."
