Doris Uhlich: more than enough

In "more than enough" artist-in-residence Doris Uhlich and her guests explore how the body becomes a trademark and what this actually means. Doris Uhlich, in newspaper reviews repeatedly described as a "corpulent dancer", challenges the importance of the outer shell and of flesh under the skin. How decisive is the body’s outward appearance for the acceptance of a piece? Is there a perfect body for dance? And last but not least: Who is beautiful and who isn’t? What does the word "beautiful" actually mean? In live phone calls people whose bodies do not correspond to (beauty) norms and nevertheless have become trademarks will be interviewed. Do they create this trademark themselves or is it assigned by others? What about this strange phenomenon of our time that everybody wants to be individual, but without stepping out of line? The Baroque period with its urge for opulence serves as point of departure for a physical and textual exploration of flesh and opulence, mirroring the employment of bodies in previous productions by Doris Uhlich.
