Not all choirs are the same, as Chorus Sine Nomine and Huutajat, the Finnish shouting choir, will demonstrate on this exceptional evening. Chorus Sine Nominee, founded in 1991 by Johannes Hiemetsberger and since then having achieved international success with concerts all over the world, will take you into the complex but incredibly rich and compelling world of madrigals and the early days of the oratorio. The Finnish shouting choir, however, is committed to reinterpreting ancient music exclusively with more drastic means than singing: shouting, bellowing, jeering and howling to mention but a few of the possibilities Huutajat uses to tackle art in a very intensive and vivid way.
Programme Giacomo Carissimi: "Historia di Jephte" for solos, choir and basso continuo. Claudio Monteverdi: "Sestina" (from "II Sesto Libro de Madrigal"). William Hawley: six madrigals freely adapted from Torquato Tasso et al.
Cast Chorus sine nomine, Soloists of Chorus sine nomine, Reinhild Waldek Barockharfe, Johannes Maria Bogner Orgel (Johannes Hiemetsberger direction), Huutajat (Petri Sirviö direction)
