With the new season's motto we are presenting a programme that overcomes barriers and casts off moorings, a programme that is free and makes this freedom perceptible with boundless energy. What is at stake for us becomes particularly evident with the emphasis on Mozart. With the music-theatre-dance productions "Evening Contemplation" and "Nostalgia" as well as the music project "Mozart in the Orient", we want to offer you personal access to music and carry you away into unique worlds.
Our two artists in residence this season are Austrians: the musician, composer and conductor Christian Muthspiel and the choreographer and dancer Doris Uhlich. Both deal in a very individual way with issues concerning us today. Furthermore, I am particularly pleased that with Hélène Grimaud and Sylvie Guillem we have been able to bring two exceptional female stars of the classical music and modern dance scene to our house.
With "Unleashed", in the sense of boundless, we are also in a completely new category: "Music & Literature". Within this framework, we will present six selected musical literature evenings with artists such as Josef Hader, Anne Bennent, Markus Hering, Sabine Haupt and Chris Pichler.
"Unleashed" also means that we will be opening our house to anyone who wants to get involved backstage. Apart from the significantly expanded youth, family and school programme, we are offering completely new activities for seniors, who can set out on a journey of exploration at Club/60, just the same as young people at the Youth Club/300.
This house is your house, and I cordially invite you to experience an exciting and varied season with us.
