A special programmatic concept will transform the previous Kulturcafé at the Festspielhaus St Pölten into the Café Publik. On the occasion of the grand opening party on September 25, Joachim Schloemer and his team will inaugurate the Café Publik at the Festspielhaus, which is to get a complete makeover. The venue’s programme has been entrusted to Andreas Fränzl, who as lead singer of Bauchklang, DJ and chairman of the cultural association LAMES, has taken on the challenge to transform the café into a meeting place of different cultural forms of expression.

Small concerts, poetry slams, discussion rounds, temporary exhibitions and DJ lines will get things moving at the Café Publik. The regional scene and international artists are getting a new urban platform in St Pölten: a perfect mix of café, workplace, stage, artists’ meeting point and bar. In addition, there will be a new interior design and a new, comfortable and inspiring atmosphere for the visitors to the Festspielhaus and the night-time guests of the Café Publik.

In addition to the programme curated by Andreas Fränzl, officially starting with a party on October 10, the Café Publik offers a link to the festival themes of the Festspielhaus and to supplemental umbrella events of the regular Festspielhaus programme.
