Dance Solo
For the first time, the Festspielhaus St. Pöltenoffers a series of solo dance evenings in the Great Hall. In the British choreographer and dancer Russell Maliphant, the brilliant and charismatic dancer Sylvie Guillem found a congenial partner for the exceptional four-part programme "PUSH", composed of solos and duos of these two exceptional artists. In a one-man performance, Lutz Förster, for decades a member of Pina Bausch’s Wuppertal Dance Company, will review his career as a dancer. Sadler’s Wells, the creative force behind the London dance scene, will present "Desh", the latest creation by Akram Khan, who on this evening will be both choreographer and solo dancer. And last but not least, Sylvie Guillem comes back to St Pölten and can be seen in an evening of choreographies by Mats Ek and William Forsythe. An exquisite programme for connoisseurs and dance lovers, for all those who are out for dance in its purest form.
