Music/Jazz  He’s the man who invented “Jazz made in Germany” but is best known to a mass audience through another genre altogether: Klaus Doldinger’s theme music for ‘Tatort’ has been running on tv since 1970 and long ago achieved cult status. His career is notable for his versatility: after training in classical music Klaus Doldinger discovered a love of jazz and the tenor saxophone. Together with his band Passport the ECHO award winner has recorded 35 albums so far and still remains true to his beliefs after 60 years on stage: “just play – and don’t be too one-sided!”.
