Anna Gréta Sigurðardóttir brings a breath of fresh air to the jazz landscape. Having grown up near Reykjavík, she cites her father’s jazz saxophone and The Beatles’ Let it be as formative influences. On the album Nightjar in the Northern Sky she can be heard as a vocalist for the first time. With both classical and folk references, this creates a sonic memorial to her Icelandic roots.
