Dance/Live-Music The choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly is one of the most powerful voices in West African dance. Together with the award-winning Malian-born musician Rokia Traoré and a commanding ensemble, ‘Kirina’ examines questions relating to the languages, musical forms and narratives created by migration and illuminates how these cultures have influenced other countries. A moving celebration of cultural diversity that finds a place for the myths of ancient Greece alongside Bible stories and African myths.

A production by Faso Danse Théâtre and Ruhrtriennale. Executive Producer: les ballets C de la B. In coproduction with Festival de Marseille, Onassis Cultural Centre Athens, Théâtre Paris-Villette, Théâtre de Namur, Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, Romaeuropa Festival, Kampnagel Hamburg, De Grote Post Ostend, Vooruit Gent, La Rose des Vents Villeneuve d’Ascq and ExtraPôle Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
