Music/Crossover Built to be strummed, the ukulele first arrived on the international music scene in the 1950s. This “little cousin” of the guitar brought a new freshness to both lounge jazz and easy listening. This marks the debut of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and their “dancing fleas” (translated from Hawaiian) at the Festspielhaus. The eightperson orchestra met in Leeds in 1985 and have been twanging their way through musical history ever since. The group creates a glorious series of conversations and melodies.
