» Franz Schubert „Winterreise“ op. 89 D 911 «

Classical music/vocals  Schubert presented the ‘Winterreise’ to his friends as a “gruesome song cycle”. They felt the composer had gone too far: the intensity of expression in these works going far beyond what was considered seemly at the time. Now, however, this song cycle is regarded as the peak of Romantic song­writing. Matthias Goerne is respected as an outstanding song singer, whose interpretation of ‘Winterreise’ has received ecstatic reviews. A very special evening!
