Music/Indie  The name “Bird” is both accurate and totally misleading. While Wallis Bird was born to be a singer, there is nothing of the waif­like folk artist about her. Anyone who has seen and heard her will know she is a true rock ’n’ roller whose powerful voice sings about the things in life that really matter. And yet her five studio albums remain a pale imitation of the effect she creates on stage. The fact that she is at her best live is always the greatest compliment for any musician.
