Dance/live music  Global star Akram Khan has already made several triumphant guest appearances at the Festspielhaus with ‘TOROBAKA’ (2014) together with Israel Galván and his solo ‘DESH’ (2013). His collaborations with exceptional artists such as Anish Kapoor, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Sylvie Guillem and Antony Gormley are legendary. Now the world-famous dancer returns to St. Pölten and presents his brand new solo piece ‘XENOS’ (the Greek word for “guest” or “stranger”), which will focus on the First World War through the lens of the myth of Prometheus and explore our connection with our past to our future. Premiering in Athens February 2018, ‘XENOS’ will mark Akram’s final performance as a dancer in a full length show. Together with a group of live musicians, he once again celebrates his world-famous mix of Indian Kathak and contemporary dance.
