Music/Vocal  Her loving preservation and courageous reinterpretation of Kurdish music has made Aynur Doğan one of the most famous Kurdish singers. However, with her openness to western influences she has also been able to establish the musical heritage of her homeland as a global genre. Now she can look back on seven successful albums and numerous music awards. Not least her participation in Fatih Akin’s music film Crossing the Bridge – The Sound of Istanbul made Aynur familiar to an audience of millions. In her work she is always mindful to lend her voice to those who have none – and this makes it sound even more powerful.
