This multimedia concert experience is all about water! In Johanna Doderer’s composition The Great Rain, it is an inner rainfall, an all-inundating musical idea. The young German composer Sven Daigger has set a poem by Christian Morgenstern to music in which the destructive power of the sea is evoked. And in his spectacular Water Concerto, Tan Dun focuses on his childhood memories, using highly unusual water-based instruments. The programme is framed by projections and lighting effects that transform the Festspielhaus into a site of audio-visual experience.
