Music/Film  Wu Tsang is attracting international attention with her multi-faceted film and performance works. Together with the group Moved by the Motion and the acting company from Schauspielhaus Zürich, she now tackles Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. The adaptation by the writer Sophia Al-Maria and Wu Tsang explores the underlying currents of a narrative that ostensibly deals with Captain Ahab, sailing through a colonized world in the middle of the 19th century to hunt the great white whale. Wu Tsang, who consistently looks for hidden stories and repressed narratives in her works, creates a silent movie that dives deep down into the world of the story. The Zurich Chamber Orchestra will accompany the film live, performing the score by Caroline Shaw and Andrew Yee with Asma Maroof.
