« Ich bin seit über zehn Jahren im Atelier , wo ich mit über 60 Jahren meine ersten Tanzschritte gemacht habe. Ich habe gelernt, meinen Körper zu kennen, und je besser ich ihn beherrschte, desto mehr verschwand meine Schüchternheit, und ich konnte leichter mit anderen Menschen umgehen. Ich mache weiter, auch wenn mein Körper älter wird, aber dank der hervorragenden Choreografen, die uns anleiten, ist das (noch?) kein Handicap. Ich freue mich jede Woche auf den Moment, der für meinen Körper und meinen Geist so wichtig ist.« Georges, Atelier-Teilnehmer
Mónica Delgadillo Aguilar is a Mexican dancer, choreographer and dance researcher. As a dancer and choreographer she has participated in numerous productions in the genres of dance – both ballet and contemporary – theatre and music theatre. She has worked as a choreographer and dance facilitator in community projects since 2008. In 2011 she was appointed director of the participatory dance programme "Tanz die Toleranz" in Vienna. This programme aims to make dance accessible to all, irrespective of background, age and experience. Mónica wishes to use her work to encourage disadvantaged groups to become active, autonomous agents within the cultural sector. Mónica’s creative working process is conducted in co-authorship with the participants.
