Focus and Creativity
Chris Yi-Yi Wang is a dance artist, educator, and researcher working at the intersection of contemporary dance, pedagogy, and arts & health. Based in Austria, he is a Senior Lecturer at the Mozarteum University Salzburg (Carl Orff Institute) and a PhD candidate focusing on arts for health and cultural democracy. He studied Dance Performance (MUK Vienna), Dance Pedagogy (Anton Bruckner University Linz), and Dance Science (University of Bern). Chris danced at the Opera House Graz from 2010–2018 and has collaborated with choreographers including Jérôme Bel, Natalia Horecna, and Helge Letonja. Active in inclusive and community-based dance since 2009, he is a founding member of Arts for Health Austria and contributes to research at the Salzburg Institute for Arts in Medicine. He has been the choreographer and artistic lead of Atelier II at Festspielhaus St. Pölten since the 2023/24 season.
