Important information
Please note that instead of the originally announced piece Yongoyély, the company will now present its production Yé! (Water!) instead! We regret the last-minute change to the programme: as the performers involved have not received visas, Yongoyély will not be performed at the moment. We are all the more pleased that the company has been able to reschedule. The replacement performance will take place without the participation of the performers concerned.
Tickets that have already been purchased will of course remain valid.
Description
Water: source of life, symbol of strength, source of conflict. In Yé! (Water!) it becomes the central motif and message. The Circus Baobab company from Guinea brings a visually stunning spectacle to the stage that combines breathtaking acrobatics with a burning issue of our time: the climate crisis and the associated water shortage.
Circus/acrobatics In a world that is reaching its limits, the bodies of the 13 artists tell of the will to survive, the power of invention and the hope for change. Yé! (Water!) is a journey along imaginary water veins, through drought and current, through chaos and new beginnings. Sometimes swirling lightly through the air, sometimes powerfully grounded in reality, this performance draws on the wellspring of creativity to meet ecological challenges.
Both poetic and political, Circus Baobab, a company known for its social and community-orientated approach, combines movement and message to create a powerful vision: a different future is possible. And it starts now.
