Important information

Unfortunately, the performance of Atlas Song by the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani will not take place as planned due to a sudden medical emergency involving Anna von Hausswolff. She is currently recovering but will need time to fully regain her strength. Tickets already booked remain valid.

As a replacement, the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani will present a double bill featuring choreographies by Marcos Morau and Hofesh Shechter.

Thank you for your understanding!

Description

Surreal imagery, explosive energy, and a stage space full of transformations: This double bill by the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani combines theatrical imagination with an energetic movement language.

With Cold Song, Marcos Morau creates a magical stage cosmos inspired by an aria from Henry Purcell’s King Arthur. The dancers slip into shifting roles as a mysterious box continually reveals new images, objects, and theatrical surprises. In Wild Poetry, Hofesh Shechter unfolds a pulsating stream of movement brimming with energy and power. Dense group formations suddenly give rise to intimate moments, and rhythmic force creates almost meditative states.

The GöteborgsOperans Danskompani ranks among Europe’s leading contemporary dance companies and is known for its international focus. Marcos Morau works with ensembles worldwide. As one of the leading voices in contemporary dance, he has been contributing his artistic vision as Artist in Residence at the Staatsballett Berlin since 2023. As Artistic Director of the Hofesh Shechter Company, Hofesh Shechter is considered one of the “hottest artists on the British dance scene” (New York Times). With his powerful works, he serves as a guest choreographer for renowned dance companies.

Before the performance, there will be a free interactive presentation of the upcoming 2026/2027 season programme. Register now
