Description
Famous for his energy-saturated, direct style and the powerful, cinematic music that the trained percussionist often creates himself, in Theatre of Dreams Hofesh Shechter and his British-based company plunge deep into a world of fantasy and the unconscious, inhabited by fears, hopes and desires. In a series of surreal encounters, the dancers create a dream landscape on stage which, in their continued collaboration with lighting designer Tom Visser, is transformed into an overwhelming sculptural space. Together with live musical elements, Hofesh Shechter and his company succeed in shifting between dreaming and waking, between poetry and reality in a Gesamtkunstwerk made up of dance, music and light: “Goosebumps are the least one can expect from a Hofesh Shechter show.” (Le Monde).
