Two visionaries, two worlds: For NDT 2, Marco Goecke and Marcos Morau set dark souls and rituals in motion.
Dance At last, the legendary NDT 2 is back in Austria! Inspired by the correspondence between Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan and set to music by Franz Schubert, Alfred Schnittke and the rock band Placebo, with Wir sagen uns Dunkles Marco Goecke presents a choreography about the vulnerable, dark side of humanity. With Folkå, Marcos Morau presents a pulsating visual and auditory landscape that tells a story about community, customs and traditions.
Choreographer Marco Goecke works with renowned companies worldwide. As winner of the German Dance Award 2022, he is considered a formative figure in classical dance and will become Artistic Director of the Ballet at Theater Basel from the 2025/2026 season. Marcos Morau is one of the most influential voices in contemporary dance and has been contributing his artistic vision as Artist in Residence at the Staatsballett Berlin since 2023. NDT 2 was founded in 1978 as the second company of the NDT. Originally conceived as a talent factory for young dancers, it has developed into an independent company with its own repertoire and worldwide tours.
