Neujahrskonzert

We humans need and love our rituals and traditions. In 2027, we will once again celebrate the end of the old year and the beginning of twelve new months full of hope and possibilities with high art. 

The colourful mix of works by the Strauss dynasty and popular classics from around the world, garnished with ravishing arias from opera and operetta, has long since become the trademark of the Tonkünstler around New Year's Eve and New Year's Day: where else do the musical champagne corks pop more harmoniously than here? Sascha Goetzel's charming conducting provides the perfect setting to welcome in 2027 in a cheerful mood. The concert is rounded off atmospherically by soloist Sophie Mitterhuber. Here's to a hearty Happy New Year! 

Sascha Goetzel made a name for himself through his many years as principal conductor of the Borusan Istanbul Orchestra and as a guest conductor at venues including the Vienna State Opera, the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin and the Tokyo and Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestras.
