Do you recognise this? You look into a puddle and suddenly it glitters in all colours? Or you hold a piece of glass up to the light and suddenly colourful rainbows are dancing on the wall? That's exactly how a prism works it turns a single colour into a whole spectrum.

Dance for young audiences In the pop-up dance performance Prisma, the phenomenon of refracted light comes to life. Because even if we all see the same thing, everyone imagines something different. A story can taste like adventure to one person and like magic to another. Like a colourful rainbow of ideas, new worlds emerge from familiar stories! Prisma takes its inspiration from children's books: from wild monsters, tiny creatures and transformations – like the insatiable caterpillar that becomes a butterfly. But here everything happens with dance! Figures, images and stories transform into movements, jump, turn and change constantly. Sometimes everything is clear, then again mysterious, funny or unexpected – just like a daydream in which anything is possible.

Rotem Weissman is a Berlin-based choreographer whose work explores the many dimensions of movement and investigates how the body can dance, narrate and dream. Originally from Israel, she completed the International Choreographic Exchange Postgraduate Programme at the SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Since then, she has created performances for adult and young audiences and presented her works in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Israel and beyond.
