Curtis Stigers proves that the kitchen is a place where not only good food but also exquisite music can be created, with his Songs From My Kitchen – songs he honed at his own kitchen hob and is now bringing to the big concert stage.

We remember it well: when concert venues were closed during the pandemic, musicians got creative and presented their art in unusual venues. Curtis Stigers streamed a weekly concert from his private kitchen, which became an intimate stage for his laid-back songs, accompanied only by his guitar. Under the title Songs From My Kitchen, the internet concert series – hugely popular with his fans – has now reached over 50 episodes. From the vast repertoire of songs from that period, Stigers has now released a selection of gems on Songs From My Kitchen Vol. I – an album that, with its distinctive mix of Stigers’ own songs and covers, focuses on an acoustic, stripped-back sound and flirts with blues and folk.

Singer and saxophonist Curtis Stigers scored a worldwide top-ten hit in 1991 with I Wonder Why and has enjoyed success in the pop genre ever since. In the 2000s, he turned increasingly towards jazz and has now reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter.
