Solo in Concerto brings together timeless classics, new compositions and musical rarities from Pollina’s repertoire. The singer accompanies himself on piano and guitar, complemented by visual projections that trace his remarkable life journey: from 1980s Palermo through his formative years as a street musician to the great stages of Europe. In the second part of the evening, Elisa Sandrini joins him. Together with the singer, pianist and accordionist, Pollina develops multi-layered versions of his songs. Thus, Solo in Concerto becomes a completely new experience – even for connoisseurs of his extraordinary work.

Born in Palermo in 1963, Giuseppe Pollina began his career with the politically engaged folk group Agricantus. At the same time, he studied classical guitar and music theory. He later wrote for the investigative magazine I Siciliani before travelling through Europe as a street musician. With numerous albums and international tours to his name, he is now regarded as one of the defining cantautori of his generation. In Elisa Sandrini, he is joined by a multi-talented musician who regularly performs on stages across Europe as part of numerous projects.
