Ledisi Anibade Young was born in New Orleans in 1972. Following a classical training in voice and piano, she released her first albums. Her international breakthrough came in 2007 with Lost & Found. Acclaimed works and a Grammy for the song Anything for You followed. At the same time, Ledisi made a name for herself as an actress, notably as Mahalia Jackson in the film Selma.
