Collectif Petit Travers . Quatuor Debussy

Description
Juggling as a way of life: ten jugglers and four musicians create an evening exploring attention, time and the fragile balance between the self and the collective.
Collectif Petit Travers, in collaboration with the Quatuor Debussy, has developed a stage piece centred on the art of juggling. Set to the music of Henry Purcell and Marc Mellits, the performance features precise choreographed movements, personal monologues and collective formations. Every body, every object, every voice asserts its individuality whilst simultaneously blending into the whole. Thus, a fragile utopia emerges on stage, in which technique, play, seriousness and humour intertwine. An evening that demands and rewards wonder, laughter and concentration in equal measure.
Since 2004, Collectif Petit Travers has been renowned for large-scale juggling productions and educational outreach. With performances worldwide and influential collaborations with, among others, Pina Bausch, Maguy Marin and Jérôme Thomas, the company stands for an open, contemporary form of juggling. The Quatuor Debussy is one of the world’s most renowned string quartets and captivates audiences globally with its stylistic openness, curiosity and the highest musical quality.
