In his latest work, Mourad Merzouki places the ageing process at the heart of the movement. It is not the spectacular effect that counts, but the search for new gestures, for a grace that arises from experience. The dancers reinvent their bodies, moving beyond familiar virtuosity, and develop a touching aesthetic of reduction. Merzouki combines electro-tango music and urban dance to create a dialogue between generations. The result is an intelligent, warm and profound choreography about transience, joie de vivre and the beauty of moving forward.

For almost three decades, Mourad Merzouki has shaped the path of hip-hop from the streets to the stage. As a pioneer of this transition, he has given urban dance its own aesthetic and firmly anchored it in the contemporary choreographic landscape.
