Delicate and explosive at the same time: Ohad Naharin challenges his dancers to capture the complexity of human emotions through extreme movements.

In Sadeh21, the dancers of the Batsheva Dance Company transform their movements into an overwhelming flow of danced images. The title means ‘field’ in Hebrew – in the sense of an open, initially empty space that is constantly redefined by the dancers through their bodies, the space and their movements. From this field, Ohad Naharin develops a choreography that explores the dynamics of solos, duets and group choreography, in which clear lines and formations constantly dissolve into surprising, natural disorder. The bodies of the 18 dancers pierce the air, razor-sharp yet fragile, as they venture to the very limits of mobility. Set to the music of Brian Eno and David Darling, a performance unfolds that is as sensitive as it is thrilling, at times humorous, depicting human complexity, with risk, change and the joy of movement at its heart.

Ohad Naharin, resident choreographer of the Batsheva Dance Company, is one of the most influential choreographers of our time. With the movement language Gaga, he has developed a dance language that extends far beyond the contemporary scene and whose influence reaches into popular culture.
