Description

Between darkness and light, between cosmic loneliness and communal strength, a fascinating game unfolds for 17 dancers as a hopeful glimpse into the future.

Dance/acrobatics Inspired by the vastness of the cosmos and the rhythms of life, Sol Invictus tells of hope and overcoming darkness. The music – a gripping mixture of Beethoven, Steve Reich and contemporary compositions – accompanies flowing dances as well as a fast-paced movement language with elements of urban dance and acrobatics. Particularly impressive: a golden floor dominates the stage set like the sun and invites you to celebrate the transition from the darkest nights to brighter days.

In his work with his company, Hervé Koubi combines urban dance, acrobatics and ballet to redefine the boundaries of contemporary choreography. He sees his work as a declaration of love for dance and the community. In 2015, he was honoured with the Order of the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
